CoolSculpting, Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
When it comes to achieving a flatter and smoother stomach, there are several choices available to you. In our last blog, we explored tummy tuck surgery as well as liposuction. While these are the best options for many men and women, Dr. Fugo understands that each of his patients has unique needs that may best be met through another form of cosmetic enhancement. Here, we look at other options that can help you achieve a sleek and sexy tummy.
Go Mini!
While still surgical, a mini tummy tuck is far less invasive than a traditional full tummy tuck. Whereas a full tummy tuck addresses both the upper and lower abdomen, a mini tummy tuck focuses on removing excess skin below the belly button. Whether you are a candidate for a mini tummy tuck depends on “the degree of laxity you have and where the laxity is most prominent,” explains Dr. Fugo. Utilizing a smaller incision, there is less residual scarring and a less substantial recovery period.
Freeze It!
For men and women with specific pockets of fat accumulation, CoolSculpting® is a great, minimally invasive alternative to liposuction. Through focal, controlled cooling, fat cells are frozen and naturally flushed from your body. Perfect for common tummy troubles—CoolSculpting is an especially popular treatment for getting rid of love handles, muffin tops and belly pooches. However, CoolSculpting may not the best option for those with significant fat excess or substantial excess skin.
Stop the Stretch!
Stretch marks can be a persistent problem for many of our patients. Whether performed alone or together with another procedure, “laser resurfacing can be added to remove stretch marks, scars and gain additional skin contraction,” explains Dr. Fugo.
Dr. Fugo Will Work with You to Find the Best Procedure
There is no single procedure for everybody. What is best for you will depend “upon both your particular anatomy as well as your expectations.” With a number of alternatives available to you at his New Windsor practice, you can trust that Dr. Fugo will work closely with you to recommend the approach that will help you achieve the best results possible.
